No Sew Paper Towels
If you're like me, you have very limited sewing skills. My skills are not up to professional standards by any means. That's okay though! For this DIY project, you won't need a needle, thread, or sewing machine. You only need two items to create this reusable product in your home.
There are tons of different ways to make cloth paper towels for your home. They range from super easy to more complicated. This project is incredibly simple and could be one you do with kids responsible enough to use scissors.
For these no sew paper towels, you'll need:
Lay the t-shirt down on a level surface like a table. Make sure it's laying flat. Take your scissors and cut from the bottom of one sleeve straight across to the other. You will end up with the t-shirt in two pieces.
For the rest of the project, you'll only be using the body portions of the t-shirts. Save the upper portions for another project I talk about here.
Lay the body portion of the t-shirt flat. Cut along the seam lines on the left and right sides. You will now have two pieces of fabric.
Cut the fabric in half again. They should be about the same size as a standard single paper towel sheet.
There are many different ways to store your new no sew paper towels. You can use an old Clorox wipes container, a basket, or hide them in a drawer that's easy to access. I have a small basket that I keep mine in. They are on our small bar area near the stove so I can grab one quickly when a mess is made of when I'm picking up the kitchen.
Cloth paper towels need minimal care. All you have to do is wash them like you would normal laundry. If you need to add these as bulk to a cloth diaper load, they are small enough to do so.
You have successfully made your own no sew paper towels! This is a great way to recycle items you already have in your home and that you may have planned to throw out. Go use them and enjoy saving a few bucks each month!
Until next time,
